Butterfly Garden

One of my earlier envies: While Nancy attended a conference at the Chicago Botanical Garden, I (as a spouse) toured.  In one of their gardens, a butterfly bush  (Buddleia) was filled with butterflies. When we started building our gardens, we wanted a garden that was filled with butterflies. We first planted the butterfly bush. It didn’t survive. Twice more we tried. They, too, died. A friend suggested Lantana. We tried it and it survived, bloomed and attracted butterflies.

We did finally succeed with butterfly bush, too, but Lantana was best for us.

And it did attract insects, including butterflies.
